Recent efforts have been initiated by a working group from Bình Dân Hospital, led by PGS.TS.BS Trần Vĩnh Hưng, to launch a comprehensive support program aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Bệnh viện Đa khoa Bà Rịa. This collaboration signifies a shift from merely transferring technical skills to empowering local medical staff with deep expertise.

Through continuous evaluation and collaboration, both hospitals have agreed to focus on five key specialties: Thoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology, Anesthesiology, and Imaging Diagnosis.

According to PGS.TS.BS Trần Vĩnh Hưng, Bình Dân Hospital is committed to a long-term partnership with Bệnh viện Đa khoa Bà Rịa, which includes strengthening surgical capabilities and establishing a coherent expertise-sharing mechanism between the two medical institutions.

Immediate efforts will be directed towards advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques. In order to enhance diagnostic and treatment capabilities for gastrointestinal diseases at Bà Rịa, Bình Dân Hospital will lend essential medical equipment such as two ultrasound machines and one gastrointestinal endoscopy system.

Both hospitals plan to implement a structured approach to connect their specialized departments. This collaboration will involve direct involvement of the specialized departments and functional units of Bình Dân Hospital with their counterparts at Bệnh viện Đa khoa Bà Rịa, covering training, technical transfer, standardization of professional procedures, management support, and human resource development.

Such an approach aims to transition from a model of “technical transfer” to one of “capacity building,” enabling local staff to master their expertise and fostering sustainable development for the hospital.

Experts will not only lead surgical training but will also collaborate with local teams to review and standardize professional protocols, surgical safety measures, treatment regimens, anesthesia management, infection control, and hospital administration.

An important new aspect of this program is the gradual introduction of specialized personnel to work directly at Bà Rịa. Alongside remote consultations and ongoing expert assistance, Bình Dân Hospital plans to dispatch young doctors from surgical and imaging teams for long-term positions at Bệnh viện Đa khoa Bà Rịa.

These young doctors, mostly recent graduates, will be assigned to Bệnh viện Đa khoa Bà Rịa, where they will actively engage in patient care, treatment, and the advancement of local technical skills.

After five years of service there, physicians wishing to return to Bình Dân Hospital will be given preferential consideration for suitable job placements. This mechanism not only incentivizes young doctors to consider long-term positions in Bà Rịa but also helps bolster the quality of local medical personnel.
